We are always looking for qualified Foster families who would be willing to take on the responsibility of a rescue dog on a temporary basis.  Typically, the dog would need to be taken to a vet for a complete medical exam and groomed during this period.  Most importantly, the dog would need a great deal of human interaction so as to ease the adjustment of the home change, and to provide us with feedback on the dog’s temperament and personality.  If you are interested in qualifying as a Foster Home, see the Foster Home Application Form, print it and return it by mail. The Form is also available for download as a PDF Acrobat file.  All Foster Families must be a member of the club currently providing rescue and re-home services.  Membership information and application forms for the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Northern California and Sierra West can be found on their respective web sites.  We applaud any family for their willingness to take on the responsibility and the challenges that go along with the fulfillment of rescuing a Bernese Mountain Dog.
